In Texas, a DWI Intervention class (also called a DWI Repeat Offender class) is a more intensive educational program mandated for individuals who have been convicted of multiple DWI offenses. Here’s what you need to know:

Who Needs to Take It:

• Multiple DWI Convictions: This class is typically required if your driver’s license has been suspended due to multiple DWI convictions.
• Court-Ordered: In some cases, the court may order a DWI Intervention class even for a first offense if it involves aggravating circumstances.

Texas Court Classes offers a DWI Intervention (DWII) class intended for those who are repeat offenders and who have been convicted multiple times of driving while intoxicated (DWI) with a suspended license.

Our DWII class will teach the history of DWI, effects of alcohol and drugs on driving ability, Texas criminal and civil laws around DWIs, resources to assist with getting help, what happens when we drink, and absorption of alcohol and use of a blood alcohol content (BAC) calculator.

The modules for the DWII class are broken down as follows:

Module 3: Values and self-esteem

Module 4: Positive thinking and irrational beliefs

Module 5: Asserting control and goal setting

Module 6: Responsibility

Module 7: Physiological and psychological effects of drugs

Module 9: Processing alcohol and the family — Family Week

Module 10: Co-dependency and Al-Anon — Family Week

Module 11: Treatment options and 12-step self-help groups

Module 12: Thinking for success

Module 13: Peer pressure and relapse prevention

Module 14: Problem solving and action planning

Module 15: Action plan finalization and evaluation 

In many jurisdictions, including Texas, courts may require you to complete a program as part of your sentence or probation requirements. If you’re a repeat offender, DWII classes might be necessary to reinstate your license and driving privileges.

The class lasts for a total of 32 hours and spans 7.5 weeks with two class days per week.

Online DWI Intervention classes cost $275. When selecting an online DWI Intervention class make sure it is certified by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). While all DWI classes offered by Texas Court Classes are TDLR certified some of the classes sold online are not TDLR certified. 

Texas Court Classes will mail you and DPS a paper certificate of completion within 5-10 days after you’ve successfully finished your class. If you need your certificate sooner, we will rush mail it to you within 24 hours for $20. Online course certificates are available immediately after successful completion of the course.

Yes! Texas Court Classes’ programs are approved and fully certified by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Texas court system. The DWII class is approved for any court-ordered DWI classes in Texas. (License #653)

There are no refunds except if Texas Court Classes cancels your class on our end. If you miss a day of a class you have scheduled, you will be disenrolled and it will be your responsibility to re-enroll yourself.

If your class hasn’t started yet, you can reschedule to another class time. If you miss sessions from a class you’ve already begun, you will be disenrolled and will have to re-enroll in another class.

Yes, but for the final examination on the last day of class, you must have a secondary device. You will need to be visibly present with your camera on while taking the exam.

We are 100% confident that your judge and/or probation officer will 100% accept your Texas Court Classes Certificate.

If you sign up for the correct course, complete it, receive your certificate, and submit it on time, but the court or probation officer does not accept your Texas Court Classes certificate, let us know with evidence before 30 days. We will try to discuss the situation with the court or probation officer first to get you a resolution, and if they still don’t accept the certificate, we will issue a full refund.
